Pomfret pea alu bengali curry - Mom

Fresher the fish, better the taste
Clean and cut fish in slices from fin to fin
Peel and cut potatoes in cubes,

Marinate fish and potatoes with salt, turmeric and chilly powder
Shallow fry fish and potatoes in mustard oil, keep it aside
Microwave potatoes for 4-6 mins with water. Alternatively boil the potatoes in the curry below.

In the same pan, in 2 tea spoons of mustard oil
fry jeera (cumin) powder, sliced tomatoes, salt, turmeric, chilly powder, sliced green chillies, ginger paste
Add potatoes and stir for a while
Add water (this is a v light curry so add more water)
Add fish in the end
Put some bengali garam masala on the top

1 kg chicken to serve 4

Marinate chicken: chilly powder, slight turmeric, salt, oil

In the pressure cooker, add oil
1/2 onion - cut length wise
ginger garlic paste
coriander powder - a lot ! 2-3 table spoon
1/2 tomato chopped
add chicken, mix for a while
later add water
boil / cook in pressure cooker

After the cooker cools down, open lid
add 1/4 coconut milk (or use maggi cocnut milk powder)
cinnamon, clove, garlic, powdered / paste.
coriander leaves well mixed in a paste (this gives the green color to the gravy)
squeeze a lime
